This section of the Treasury Board and Finance website provides forecasts of the Alberta economy, analysis of current economic conditions, population projection scenarios, and quantitative economic impact analyses of major developments within the province.  See the left-side menu above for links to this information.

Weekly Publications (updated every Friday afternoon):

• Economic Review (May 11) - contains economic commentary, statistics and indicators on the overall economy, labour market, price indices, household sector and business sector.  Click here for the Economic Reviews archive.
• Alberta Economy Indicators at a Glance (May 11) - contains the most recent data releases for key economic indicators relating to the overall economy, labour market, price indices, household sector and business sector. Click here for the Alberta Economy Indicators at a Glance archive.

Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Publications:

• Monthly - Economic Trends (April 2012). Contains timely analysis of current trends in Alberta’s economy. The “In Focus” section of each issue covers a relevant economic topic in more depth. Click here for the Economic Trends archive.
• Quarterly - Demographic Statistics.  Contains demographic statistics including population growth, births, deaths, international migrants and interprovincial migrants.
• Annually - Economic Outlook, published with the provincial budget every year.

• March 21, 2012 - Quarterly Alberta Population Report - 4th Quarter of 2011
• March 8, 2012 - first issue of the Economic Trends document (March 2012). Contains timely analysis of current trends in Alberta’s economy and will be published monthly. The “In Focus” section of each issue covers a relevant economic topic in more depth.
• February 13, 2012 - Demographic information: Release 1, Population and Dwelling Counts, has been added to the Highlights of the 2011 Census of Canada page on this website.
• February 9, 2012 - Economic Outlook for 2012-15 (see the Budget 2012 website for more information).
• January 5, 2012 - the Alberta Population Pyramid animates changes in the age distribution of Alberta's population since 1921.  The pyramid has been updated to include information to 2011.
