of Finance". References to "Revenue Canada" or "Canada
Customs and Revenue Agency" have been changed to "Canada Revenue

ALBERTA FUEL
TAX ACT INFORMATION CIRCULAR - BULK DEALERS
MAIL STRIKE CONTINGENCY PLAN
This Information Circular sets out the procedures to follow in the event a strike or
other disruption of postal service occurs.
- Special measures have been put in place to minimize inconvenience to bulk dealers in the
event of a disruption of postal services. These measures come into effect when the
Minister of Alberta Government Services declares that an emergency mail
situation exists.
- When these measures are in effect, bulk dealers can take returns, payments, and
correspondence to the nearest Alberta Provincial Government Building, ATB
Financial, or any other provincial business location that has been designated by Alberta
Government Services as a delivery point. Couriers will pick up the mail from
the delivery points and deliver it to the addressees.
- During the postal disruption, Tax and Revenue Administration will send cheques and other
materials to designated delivery points for pick-up by the bulk dealers.
- As an alternative to the above arrangements, bulk dealers may, at their own expense,
choose to use private sector couriers to pick up or deliver materials.
