Northern Alberta Wildfires and Insurance Coverage

If your home or business was affected by the wildfire activity in northern Alberta, you may have questions about insurance coverage.

Impacted residents can:

• Call Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC)’s Consumer Information Centre in Alberta at 1-800-377-6378
  (Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m.- 4 p.m.) for answers to insurance-related questions, or
• Contact their insurance company or broker directly for assistance.

IBC also has a helpful booklet on home insurance available.

If you have a complaint regarding the handling of your insurance claim, you can contact the Office of the Superintendent of Insurance.
