Unclaimed Property
Information for Claimants
On this page
In June 2008, Alberta passed the Unclaimed Personal Property and Vested Property Act and Regulation. Both came into force on September 1, 2008. The legislation establishes a service to Albertans who have lost track of property as a result of business or personal circumstances.
Forms
Claims filed by owners or their legal representatives should use the "UP Claim Form - Owner" (form AT4950). Creditors who have a legal claim to property but are not owners should use the UP Claim Form - Creditor (form AT4951). The form itself provides information about claiming as a creditor.
