Government Accountability
Every year, usually in February or March, the government releases the provincial budget, which provides details of government and ministry business plans, spending plans (main estimates) and revenue forecasts for the coming three years.
Three times in the year (August, November, and February), the government publishes quarterly fiscal updates to update or add to the information already in the budget. As required, supplementary estimates may be published with the quarterly fiscal updates. Occasionally, interim supply estimates may be published prior to tabling a full budget.
The Alberta government also publishes its financial results and reports on the general well-being and quality of life of Albertans in the government and ministry annual reports. The Government of Alberta Annual Report is published in June, along with the Ministry Annual Reports.
